I’ve been living off the grid and making use of power inverters and other alternative energy devices for many years. My years of experience have taught me the things that really work and the things that only work “in theory”.

Let me tell you a bit more about me and why I’m qualified to write about this kind of technology. First let me give you a little background. I was first introduced to power inverters about 20 years ago when I was trying to figure out a way to put a small television in my 1969 Volkswagen Camper Van. After looking into my options, I found a small inverter and installed it in the van and it worked perfectly! I’ve been fascinated with alternative energy ever since.

About 7 years ago we moved to the mountains to live off the grid. You might say that I “learned by trial and error”. We went through several low quality inverters in the first few years before we figured out the best combination for our application. Along the way, we acquired a “real life” education on alternative energy and power inverters.

The reason I made this website is so that I can hopefully help some of you avoid the same mistakes that I made as I was learning to live off the grid. These mistakes were quite costly and hopefully I’ll be able to save you a lot of money and headaches as you learn about these amazing devices.
